LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT LIFE

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT LIFE – NOT REALLY THE ROY STORY, BUT A LESSON LEARNED

I separate people into people with life-changing experiences and people without. There is a big difference between the two, also when it comes to what a workout and a healthy lifestyle means to them.

Especially during the summer months, I always wonder how many ladies find excuses to not do their work out (too hot, beer garden, Isar, etc.). Never forget how important your health is. It is the only thing of real value that you have in life.

I could not do any workouts or training for nearly TWO YEARS after my heart operation. This is now more than a decade ago but I have never forgotten how much you can miss the ability to move your body. You ladies sometimes seem to forget what is important in life.

Let me tell you something that you likely already know. Your life will not always be all sunshine. On some days it feels like life beats you to your knees and tries to keep you there permanently. I have been in this situation before. On some days, nobody will hit you as hard as life. I have heard so many small stories in the studio – from a brother dying before a wedding, a father with a deadly brain tumor, a baby being lost during the first weeks of pregnancy despite so much hope, a painful split-up in a relationship and a divorce with severe consequences.

Never forget that in these painful & trying moments, it is not about how hard you can hit (I could not even lift my arms for about six months, so I did not dare to think about hitting). It is about how hard you can get hit and nevertheless keep moving forward.

This is what I try to achieve in my small little Roy boutique fitness world. I want to make you a superwoman. I want you to work out so hard and nevertheless keep moving forward. Because you all have the strength inside of you that you can get hit as hard as you can imagine and you nevertheless move forward. Don’t forget during those tough training minutes when when you reach your own personal limits during your next class.
