BLACK LIVES MATTER….WHY YOU SYPC WOMEN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE WITHOUT KNOWING
First of all, I will not get involved into all the discussions that are going on at the moment. I will not, because I think you can never fully understand what it means. In particular growing up in a city like Washington, DC.
A little girl once said to me: „Why do they all call you black? You are not black, you are brown. Brown like chocolate.“ And I guess this is all I have to say to the black and white discussion. Not everything is black and white.
But if you think this discussion has nothing to do with Germany, then I will tell you that you are wrong. The first thing that happened when our SYPC opening posters were on the U-Bahn billboards in Schwabing, you see on the photo (just swipe). It was „Ausländer raus“. As said, I will not comment. Also because I still have a burning feeling in my heart.
But I want to say one thing: I cannot change the big wide world, but I can make a difference in my small world. And therefore I cannot say it often enough: this community of SYPC ladies is something so special. They are open-minded, they are international, they have beautiful hearts. And this is also why the training atmosphere in the clubs is so different. Every woman feels welcome – you are not judged by the color of your skin, the brand of your sports clothes, or the shape of your body.
You are judged by your will to not give up during the class, your determination to change your life. And by that – as part of the women community and maybe not even noticed by yourself – you become a role model and you change the life of others. And this is all that is important.
